Mother's Day Weekend

We had a lovely weekend. It was a great Mother's Day. But I have no pictures of that. I never remember to do the Mother's Day picture with my kids. But it was delightful. Even though it included a bashed head (eek! lots of blood) from the kids playing under Justin's trailer in the afternoon and a lost tooth (Lily) from an errant elbow (Gilbert) in the morning. Then, this morning, I woke up to a failure as the tooth fairy, despite two reminders from Lily, and apparently a missed episode of vomiting (Lily as well). I heard something in the night, got up, and didn't hear anything else. Sometimes the kids talk in their sleep, so I didn't think much of it and went back to bed.  I am a teensy bit of a terrible mother.

Still, it is good to feel needed.
Even if I fail to do what I am supposed to be doing.

Saturday we went down to the Adirondacks. Justin had a job to finish up and I had some errands to do.

Lake Placid

It is still brown down there.

I am not sure what this is. Further investigating is indicated.

And Google doesn't disappoint! It is called Hobblebush or viburnum. It is part of the honeysuckle family and related to snowball bushes. In case you were wondering. And those white flowers are sterile, used to attract pollinators to the less showy center flowers. Seems a bit inefficient.

But it is pretty.

Cherry blossom

I love this farm. A lot.

Gilbert hadn't met Abilene yet, since he had been visiting cousins in Syracuse.

He was delighted. I love this picture.

Isn't she adorable?

Yes.Yes, she is adorable.
