The royal palace was under renovations, so there was a netting over most of it. Which I took as a personal insult. I came all the way to Stockholm and they blocked my view with a net. What COULD they have been thinking?
Actually you really can't see the netting much.
Heidi said before the netting, they had a painted picture of the front of the palace, so the netting was a vast improvement.
Curving architecture
The marching band
A super cool xylophone in the shape of a lyre
Sunshiney tubas
Replacement troops marching in
Face off
We entertained ourselves by imagining what the two companies were saying to each other.
A seagull getting a bird's eye view of the whole proceeding
The soldiers going off duty with their white boots
But then they turn around and come back.
I am not even an efficiency expert, but I could have got them off to bed a lot quicker.
Ha!
Company flag I believe
Shadows of the crowds
The drummers, while not drumming, hold their drumsticks above their upper lip like gigantic, straight white mustaches.
Cool drums, huh?
It was pretty interesting all around. We even got a little mini concert from the royal orchestra.
