Beginning of October

It is a rainy fall day. Seemingly the 10th fall day in a row that is rainy. (That is an exaggeration.) I don't mind the rain. I just mind the fact that these rainy fall days make me want to get back in bed, pull up the covers and sleep until I want to get up. Somehow, that sort of behavior doesn't fit into my life. I live a very fast paced life.

So far this fall, I want to sleep more and eat more. Obviously, fall is a natural depressant. Either that, or I have the inclinations of bears to get fat and sleep well in the cold months.

It is the season of sweatshirts, red, geese, stormy clouds, bright blue skies, quietness, wood smoke, leaves, bonfires, coffee cakes, pot roasts, and soups.

Food belongs to fall.

Some of the things on my grocery list this week

apples
flour
sugar
parsley
sage
rosemary
(no thyme...)
potatoes
butter
yogurt
eggs
bananas
cream
clams
garlic
butternut squash

It is fall.

You captured my mood today exactly! Only I moodily stared out the drive through window in the pharmacy at the pouring rain, so the scenery on my end wasn't as lovely.
