The festivities for Scott and JoAnna's wedding sort of started a full week ahead of time, with Wayne and Sheena flying out east for another friend's wedding. They spent Saturday night with us, so we had people over for supper.
It was lovely!
Abilene and Elsie putting the narwhal to bed.
Sunday morning, Elsie and Gilbert were up early, waiting eagerly for the jet-lagged Douglas girls to get up.
And then we mostly had a regular week.
Two things you need to know before watching the below video--JoAnna has a deep hatred for handlebar mustaches, which once upon a time led her to sneak up on a sleeping Cody and shave half of his off to rid the world of the monstrosity. Secondly, two weeks prior, JoAnna played a trick on me that I will not go into, but believe me, she totally deserved a payback.
So... Justin had the idea of shaving his beard into a handlebar mustache and I got Owen (who was best man) to do the same. TWO handlebar mustaches.
We all had a hootenany. Which is my new favorite word that I am not entirely sure is a word.
Saturday morning was just bursting with togetherness and airport trips to pick up Tori and Lindsey (as well as the guys taking a trip to the small airport so Philip could fly Justin and Evan over Niagara Falls in the plane he flew out here from Montana) and everyone settling in for a good long dose of laughter and stories and good food.
If there is a better feeling in the world, I don't know it.
Ashley did the two bouquets
Most of the filler were picked from the fields on the farm.
All of us hanging around talking
Dad and Uncle Scott reading comic books
It was a very low key wedding, but there were some wedding prep things to do.
Justin kicked up the obnoxiousness of his mustache a notch by leaving these tufts of hair. It was well recieved.
We were all happy campers
Togetherness is just so NICE
These three musketeers had a great time being feral children in the woods. They were trying to grill leaves here.
Meet the newest additions to our household! Socks has the white legs and Black Dagger has less white. I bet you can't guess which one Orianna named and which one Gilbert named.....
Not sure what to do with the Black Dagger name. Blackie, Dag, Dagwood....
Clover made a glorious lemon meringue
JoAnna's bridezilla flipflops. They were $3 at the store she had her alternations done at and just couldn't resist the urge to bug Scott just a little bit.

Scott, playing us a tune
Fixing the screen door was an oft needed activity the whole weekend with kids running in and out constantly.

Everyone stopping to wait for Gilbert who always freaks out if people are running in front of him and he might be left behind.
These are good kids.

Cheyenne was the pup walker extraordinaire
I forget what was being said here, but I felt we needed to save this picture for posterity.
Throwing the football around
The tent guys
These two have been brother-in-laws for 42 years and still enjoy talking to each other.
These two make my heart happy
