Things I am loving right now. Online.

Fate has been conspiring against me lately in writing my weekly happy lists. Sick kids, spring break, busy-ness. So I haven't. But that does not mean there is a lack of happiness in life. Natch. We just got back, late Saturday night from some cousin/sister time with Whites. Then a lovely corned beef dinner at Parkers, overflowing sap buckets, a Marilla Jane to spend the night, a Monday off for an extra snowday, workers expected for supper/night, meetings later this week, a birthday party with my closest childhood pals. Life is pretty lovely these days. With enough throw up, budgets, and van stallings to keep it lifelike.

Since I haven't been writing lists, I have been writing them in my head. As I have mentioned once or twice before, I love lists. So this week, I am going to write lists on here. Be prepared.

Things I am currently loving online, in no particular order.

1. This site, http://bustleandsew.com/ The cutest applique and embroidery patterns. There is a blog, an online magazine you can buy (I have), patterns, a newsletter with occasional free patterns. I have all sorts of ideas to make with them. Granted, there is a good chance I will never do anything about this inspiration, but it is pleasant having the ideas.

2. Postcards. I think Livie posted some Penguin postcards on Pinterest and I had to investigate. Turns out, there are a LOT of interesting postcards. 100 Penguin book covers postcards, 100 Puffin Children's classics, 100 New Yorker covers, 100 Ladybird postcards, Cicely Mary Baker's Flower Fairies, Waldo, Norman Rockwell, and on and on. I can imagine myself sending off cheery little notes on the back of these cards. One every day.

I am touched by my childish optimism of what I am actually capable of doing.

But wouldn't it be nice? In my mind, I am sending each of you one. I have even written them in my head. Just don't expect a physical one any time soon.

3. Saltwater Sandals. They are cute, classic, not too girly/boy-ish, and relatively cheap ($20 on Amazon). And my sister-in-law just told me that my niece is wearing some saltwaters from the 80s. They last. I love the idea of buying a pair of shoes that all four of my kids can wear without looking goofy!

4. Mini books. I feel like this is really dorky of me, but I love miniature things. And since I love books in general, the miniature ones make me especially happy. Especially if they come in a set. I put a lot of things in my Amazon cart and save them for later. Then, since amazon is forever changing prices, I just check my cart every few days and Amazon kindly tells me if the price has magically dropped to a level which I could justify buying them. Somehow, Amazon has yet to drop them to $2, which is sad. Still, they are in the $10-$15 range, so I occasionally get a little library set "for the kids" for birthdays, etc. They have Maurice Sendak, Beatrix Potter, Margaret Wise Brown (Goodnight moon), Gyo Fujikawa board books, Fancy Nancy, Little little Golden books (eBay), and tiny Whitman books. Yeah, I know, this obsession is a bit goofy of me. I freely admit it.

You buy miniature books for birthdays the way I buy playmobil. All cute things, where do you want me to send the ore-loaded Visa card?
