Sheridan Rodeo Parade

Some random posts that never got posted.

Here is the parade we went to just before heading to Lake DeSmet and the lodge for Cody and Amanda's wedding in July.

So here is the Sheridan, Wyoming Rodeo Days Parade

A fire department wagon

Various ranches had wagons

Several Native tribes were represented

The Rodeo Queen

Rodeo Princess

Miss Crow Nation

A lot of the floats had to do with honoring the first responders

A combine honoring the armed forces

Preschool!

A giant cowboy hat that they kept tipping at the crowds

The kids loved the big eagle

Turtle car

Clowns

Gilbert and the rodeo clowns

The queen bees

Miss Wyoming contestant

A desert scene from the Shriners

Not sure which tribe this was--maybe Blackfoot?

An amazingly cute baby and his daddy

I adore all the color!

And those blankets!

We thought those were shells sewn on their dresses, which didn't make much sense--where did they come from? Wyoming isn't known for their beaches. But apparently they are elk teeth, harvested from the hunt.

Papoose board!

A little pony carrying her girl

Then they had floats full of people

Dressed in finery

The women's floats were had more decorum

I just love the colors!

Why does our color tend toward neutral colors so much?

Cute kids!

We were not entirely sure this truck was safe, but it was interesting.

It was SO HOT. Shade was a must.

When we were walking back to the van, we saw this sweet girl all decked out, so we asked if we could take her picture and she said sure!

Isn't she lovely?
