We just had our February break. Facebook and Instagram are full of warm beaches and exotic locales. Real life is full of sapping, frozen ground, and patches of sunshine and warmth.
On the whole, February break has been perfectly lovely.
I mean, of course, there was a very long to do list created at the beginning of break. So much optimism!! I spent the first half of break doing completely unrelated things and the last half of break wondering where the list was.
So pretty normal.
Still, since everyone else had vacation pictures, I decided to get back to the summer vacation pictures I never finished putting up last year.
The first day in Colorado almost always involves riding if at all possible.
Poppa had to be pretty patient with these Cotten kids that weren't born in a saddle.
Orianna
Showing Elsie the ropes. For real.
Fortunately, Gilbert's horse was also patient. there were a lot of contradictory directions given to it.
Kicking up dust
Daddy and his horseback kids
Elsie being all shy, but proud
Aislyn and Major got in on the riding
This tack room is completely awesome.
Showing Orianna how to take off the bridle
Mick and Dawna's brand
It was a pretty big load
Grandma Dawna showing Elsie and Gilbert proper horse etiquette
Love all the details
One of these days, I will have a tripod so I can take non-blurry pictures of this saddle.
SO GORGEOUS.
Lovely!
Chaps
Cutest little cowboy!
Riding the roping dummy
Upsie-downsie cowboy
Heading back to the house
And the view from the roping arena.
