Frozen creek
I love ice. It is never the same. But it is always intricate and delicate.
These pictures are from a few weeks back. We now have the trusses and roof plywood up!
It is coming along, just a little slow. The weather has NOT cooperated this year.

Sometimes I take walks and become completely enchanted by everything and think it is all magical. Then I get home and I go through my pictures and I realize that it was pretty ordinary and not very magical after all.
I can never decide if this is because I am a terrible photographer or I get too caught up in the moment.
Either way... I have fun taking pictures, so....

By the way, I adore the fact that we own a woods with a stone wall. Stone walls are so... enduring. I don't know who built it, but there it still is.
Large snow crystals
Being a dog owner is going well. I mean they are still alive. They don't actually feel the need to listen to me, but they seem to have fun.
We need to separate them so we can train them and work with them, but when it is below zero, sleeting or at the end of a long day, taking them both for a walk at the same time seems easier.
So. Sometime they will behave themselves. Probably.
They are calm sometimes. And for all their wildness, they always stay close by on our walks. They range out a bit to find frozen rodents and deer poop to roll in, but they check on where I am every few minutes and adjust their proximity accordingly.
They do love the snow
Raspberry or blackberry bushes. Not quite sure which. But excited to find out this summer!
We have owned this property for over a year, but getting the puppies has really got us out in the woods much, much more than we did before. Which is fun! And which is why we don't know what these prickly plants produce.

I felt a little like an arctic explorer. Except I could walk back to my cozy house in 10 minutes. Which is definitely one up on real arctic explorers.
