Turnagain Arm, the Kenai, and Seward

The morning after getting back from Talkeetna at 11 pm, we headed the other direction--down the Seward Hwy.

The clouds were so moody and dramatic looking.

I love a sunny day, but cloudy days can be so much more interesting.

A quick picture stop along the way.

See the clouds on top of the mountain, behind the mountain and even in thin layer of clouds in front of the mountain on the left side?

#cloudsfordays

There is a glacier in that saddle between the two peaks.

The mountains and the mud--so Alaskan.

Alright, I just like clouds and mountains and bits of sunshine and I feel no remorse for the loads of pictures with the same theme.

Even with weird, dirty windsheild spots this is a road worth traveling down.

I did actually stop for this picture. No fears.

The closer we got to Seward the more sunlight we had.

When we got to the Sea Life Center, sunshine was all over the place.

Getting silly again!

Orianna was off being grown up a little further down the shore, so I didn't get a picture of her.

Do you see the color of that water? So blue!

I really like that color

After admiring the bay, we went into the Sea Life Center, but that will be another post because So. Many. Pictures.

After the Sea Life Center, we went down to the harbor and walked a few docks and found a place for an early supper.

Ray's Seafood & Steaks was the place we chose for supper. Geri treated us and it was great!

What's up dude?

Even with all the sunshine, there were still a few stray clouds just to add ambiance.

Because what would an Alaskan harbor be without some wisps (or slashes) of clouds in the background?

I really like docks and boats.

Gilbert took a bajillion pictures on the way home. This stresses the girls out, ("Mom, Gilbert is taking pictures of NOTHING. A LOT of pictures of nothing.") but to be honest, deleting 267 pictures is easier than listen to the kids fighting. Because this summer, Gilbert apparently figured out every single button his sisters possess and really enjoys pushing every single one of them.

Sigh.

But I like this picture of Aunt Geri and I driving and talking. I really haven't spent much time with Geri as an adult. You relate to people so differently when you are both adults than when you are an adult and child. I really appreciated that we got to have this time together.

Coming home!

Getting close to Anchorage here--we had Wednesday night gospel meeting, so we were pushing on a bit more with little time for picture stops.

We got to Anchorage with half an hour to spare, just time for a quick potty break before dashing off to gospel meeting.
